Experience

Acting Head of AI Vietnam · Head of Strategy & Architecture
2025 – present
National Australia Bank, Vietnam / Australia · also Head of Core Engineering (secondment)

Acting Head of AI Vietnam since June 2026, while continuing to lead Strategy & Architecture (recruited to build from scratch) and Core Engineering (300+ people, secondment) — currently holding all three.

  • Ran Agentic AI pilots across platforms and domains and drove an AI-augmented, harness-based SDLC to lift delivery throughput.
  • Built NAB Vietnam's Strategy & Architecture function from scratch, scaling to 32+ architects across 12+ domains.
  • Helped redefine the architecture operating model and set target platform architecture for Digital Platform, Business Banking and the Agentic AI platform, aligning multi-domain delivery with peer heads and executives.
  • Shifted a 1,500+ quality engineering workforce from semi-automated testing to engineering-first, shift-left automation, enabling continuous delivery and ST/ST+1 execution with less rework.
  • Established a quality dashboard surfacing testing hotspots, lifting coverage to 90% on hotspots and 100% on all P1 cases.
  • Moved platform engineering from tickets to self-service: 10+ asset teams now provision, deploy and manage infrastructure themselves, eliminating hundreds of support tickets; rollout to major assets underway.
  • Cut external contractor reliance by 70% through in-house capability build-out, backed by a cross-location workforce review, a new engineering operating model and hiring roadmap.
  • Chaired the Group CEO's NAB Vietnam Initiative (FY25–26), a company-wide hiring-quality and culture-fit programme spanning all levels.
